Welcome

Welcome to my home on the network. This is my personal space where you can learn more about me and things that I have found useful in my endeavors. The photo on the home page was taken facing west from the Mineral Ridge Boat Launch on Lake Coeur d'Alene in Northern Idaho, a great place to watch bald eagles in the winter and vacation in the summer.

Dave was named one of the top 25 communications visionaries by Communications Week for his work in network management.   "To be selected for this year's Top 25, industry leaders had to meet two tests.  First, they must have exhibited an ability to envision the future and move their corporation or organization toward that vision.  Second, they must also continue to have a vision of what the future will bring and be working to realize that vision." The artical appeared in Communications Week, November 1991.

Dave participated in Hewlett-Packard's K-12 Visiting Scientist program for several years, sponsoring an annual computer programming contest for high school students.  The contest grew from the city of Fort Collins to include Loveland and Greeley.  Later Dave teamed with the University of Denver Computer Science Department to co-sponsor a statewide competition.  Hewlett-Packard awarded engineering calculators to the winning team members. The article appeared in the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
